Certificate of Medical Billing/ Coding Credentials preferred, at least four years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Knowledge of computer medical billing and/or electronic medical record systems such as Sigmund. 3. Knowledge of federal, state and payer specific regulations and policies required. 4. Proven Knowledge of a variety of payer Mix including but not limited to: PPO, EPO, HMO. 5. In depth knowledge of ICD9, ICD10 coding and its application. Tell me about this job - -Responsible to implement and manage Substance abuse inpatient and outpatient services including Sub-Acute Detox, Residential, Partial-Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and routine Outpatient (OP) levels of care (LOC). -Validates and determines appropriate coding levels by obtaining and reviewing clinical documentation. -Review information to ensure that all charges for services have been accurately documented and captured. -Ensures that documentation supports charges to prevent denials/underpayments and to ensure adherence to compliance standards. -Identifies and assists with implementation of documentation and revenue enhancement opportunities. -Collaborates with clinical staff to identify and implement appropriate documentation and coding modifications. -Reviews and distributes coding related information to all related staff.
