Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides holistic and compassionate nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team to clients with Eating Disorders and other comorbid disorders in an inpatient or residential higher level of care (HLOC) setting or in an outpatient setting with primary focus on clients in day programming (PHP/IDP). Responsibilities: • Provides client care through assessment, monitoring, and intervention to address health concerns appropriately • Responsible with medication management including education, assessing adherence, administration in the inpatient and residential setting only, and monitoring for side effects in collaboration with provider • Assists and support medical and psychiatric providers with medical care coordination • Provides medical care coordination between patient, provider, staff, family and outside care agencies as needed • Serves as a staff resource for client medical needs and information • Attends treatment meetings as applicable • Adheres to policies and procedures as defined by the various programs including maintaining client confidentiality and client rights • Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical and psychiatric to emergencies • Responsible for accurate and timely documentation in the client medical record • Able to take initiative, utilize critical thinking skills, and resource to work autonomously when needed • Able to follow through with directives provided by a supervising RN when applicable • Partners with team effectively to maximize performance through use of communication skills, knowledge of team dynamics, and adaptation to change to ensure high quality of care • Drive clients, staff, and supplies in the company vehicle as needed • Process refills, laboratory procedures, EKGs, vitals, supply ordering and stocking, and triaging of calls General Skills and Requirements: • Patient Assessments • Venipuncture/Phlebotomy • EKG placement and capture • Nasogastric Tube Feeds (at some sites only; may include placement and verification) • Vital signs • Taking and implementing provider orders • Medication administration Qualifications: • Graduate of Accredited LPN Program • Licensed as an LPN in the state of employment or compact state • Must have valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive • Current Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days from date of hire • Experience or strong desire to work in a mental health setting • Qualified in Minnesota as a Mental Health Practitioner preferred

- Valid Regular Driver License (DL) in Minnesota (MN)
- Valid American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
