We are looking for data engineers to build and manage data pipelines across a wide range of client and industry data sets. The ideal candidate is a life-long learner who knows Python, with strong analytical skills and an interest in Machine Learning. We are a fast-growing startup, bringing state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions to the trillion-dollar insurance industry. Founded in 2018, we have recently raised $20M from top Insurtech investors to continue fueling our growth. Our software-as-a-service platform provides bias-free, data-driven insights, enabling insurance companies to profitably run their business and expand their offerings to underserved people and markets.  Responsibilities: Analyze complex data schemas and relationships to implement information models to capture the data and data relationships. Create ETL processing logic to manage large volume client data sets associated with various types of insurance lines including Worker’s Compensation, Health, and Auto. Integrate 3rd party commercial and public domain data sets to enhance and extend Gradient AI’s ML data assets. Design and implement data pipelines for processing data as part of the overall ML Ops strategy within our Cloud deployment. Collaborate with data scientists to “featurize” the information models and construct Machine Learning models. Assist software engineering team to design and create integration APIs and applications that sit on top of our companies ML data assets. Qualifications: -5+ years of relevant working experience -Fluency in SQL and experience with relational and non-relational/alternative databases; Postgres is a bonus -Demonstrated ability to write effective, scalable Python code -Exposure to ETL / BPM tools like Amazon Glue, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow -Experience working with ESB/Microservices tools such as MuleSoft, Apache Kafka, Apache Karaf -Exposure working in a cloud-computing environment (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) -Comfortable with Linux, including developing shell scripts -Exposure to working with Business Intelligence Reporting Tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) is a bonus -Experience working with insurance data is a bonus What We Offer: -A fun, team-oriented startup culture. -Generous stock options - we all get to own a piece of what we’re building. -Unlimited vacation days. -Flexible schedule that supports working from home. -Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and more. -Ample opportunities to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required
  • 5+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
    • Python
    • SQL
  • Data Engineering (5+ years)
  • Are you fully vaccinated for COVID-19? *Full vaccination = 2 or more weeks have passed since the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer or Moderna vaccines) or since the first dose in a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine). Vaccine must be approved/authorized by the FDA
