Overview

The Director of Assessment & Referrals is responsible for overall system telephonic and in-person risk assessments (all locations – including MATs), ensuring appropriate levels of care with a preliminary diagnosis, facilitating the initial treatment plan with family, and implements crisis intervention techniques. In addition, the Intake Director ensures rapid facilitation of admissions and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff in order to have a consistent and efficient admission process. Reporting duties include updating and distributing daily dashboard, MAT Schedule, midnight census and call-logs. All department trainings will be developed and administered by Intake Director. Job Functions - Standards of Performance. Oversees the following: I. Admission process in its entirety of individuals after initial assessment. II. Orient patients and families to the treatment program. III. Communicates effectively with other staff. IV. Adheres to facility standard policy and procedure. V. Promote an effective use of resources for patients, customers and the facility with sensitivity to the cost of health care. VI. Related to adolescent / child / adult patients in an age appropriate manner. VII. Maintains knowledge of program rules, protocols, and guidelines. VIII. Attends / participates in mandatory meetings and in-services. IX. Maintains confidentiality of facility employees and patient information. X. Skill in prioritizing, organizing workloads. XI. Acts calmly in emergency situations. XII. Provide information about the patient to the program staff who will be receiving the patient. XIII. Daily reconcile and distribution of Dashboard. XIV. Daily reconcile and completion of precepts within 24 hours of every admission. Specific Standards for the Care of Child Patients Ages 5 through 11. Oversees the following: I. Maintain knowledge of the Child Program rules, protocols and level system. II. Maintain knowledge of children's stages of development and provides guidance to all staff when questions about the norms for behavior related to child development arise. III. Recognize acting out behavior of child specific age group and set appropriate IV. limits in clear, concise, behavioral and non-judgmental terms based on the age of the patient V. Relate to child patients in an age appropriate manner. VI. Utilizes behavioral management techniques with an understanding of the need for modification in regard to smaller body sizes of children, abandonment issues and the history of physical and/or sexual abuse issue. Specific Standards for the Care of Adolescent Patients Ages 12 through 18. Oversees the following: I. Maintain knowledge of the Adolescent Program rules, protocols and level system. II. Recognize acting out behavior of adolescent specific age group and set appropriate limits in clear, concise, behavioral and non-judgmental terms based on the age of the patient. III. Relate to adolescent patients in an age appropriate manner. IV. Utilizes behavioral management techniques with an understanding of the need for modification in regard to smaller body sizes of adolescents, abandonment issues and the history of physical and/or sexual abuse issue. Specific Standards for the Care of Adult Patients Above Age 18 years: Oversees the following: I. Maintain knowledge of the Adult Program rules, protocols and treatment modalities. II. Recognize stress related behaviors and offer appropriate comfort, reassurance and structure to ensure safety. III. Relate to adults in an age appropriate manner. IV. Utilize behavioral management techniques with an understanding of any special medical needs, history of abuse/neglect or trauma related experiences. Oversees the following - Performance Accountability: I. Uses time constructively and in an organized manner to accomplish duties/responsibilities II. Maintains a record of attendance/punctuality to meet expected standards. III. Participates in business development activities IV. Complies with all facility, department and corporate policies and procedures V. Attends all mandatory facility in services and staff development activities as scheduled. VI. Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality. VII. Complies with Employee Code of Ethics/Professional Standards of Conduct VIII. Works as needed, including overtime, in case of emergency or as deemed necessary by supervisor. IX. Maintain current awareness of mental health activities of the community. X. Promotes and demonstrates through action, deed and communication, an environment of service excellence throughout the facility to include internal and external clients, families, co-workers, physicians and visitors. XI. Demonstrates guest relations in communication, cooperation and assistance for patients, families/physicians, licensed practitioners/co-workers and visitors in a prompt and courteous manner. Progressively responsible experience preferably in a health care setting. II. Inpatient experience preferred, but not required. Qualifications

Required
  • Master's degree or higher
  • Is your Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling?
  • Inpatient Facility (2+ years)
  • ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
    • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Texas (TX)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas (TX)
    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas (TX)
    • LPCI in Texas (TX)
  • Valid CPR/CPI
