Director of Healthcare Economics

Overview

Our client is searching for a Director of Health Care Economics to fill a remote, permanent position as soon as possible. This client is focused on improving outcomes for patients, providers, and health plans by using Data Analytics, Data Science and Economics to optimizing the quality, safety, and affordability of healthcare. Primary responsibilities for this role include working with Client Account Management, Clinical Operations, Finance and others to drive strategic decision making in your assigned client segment. You will be responsible for the design, development, rollout and documentation of financial, clinical and utilization based analyses. You will also use data analytics to provide reports to illustrate compelling stories that drive medical cost and affordability goals. To achieve these goals you must be able to research, identify, monitor and analyze healthcare market drivers from both client specific side and overall market economics, to drive desired results. To drive these results you will apply visualization techniques along with user stories that are easily understandable and reasonable to a large audience. Additionally, this role requires a desire and demonstrated ability grow and lead a team of economists to provide expertise across a variety of healthcare delivery mechanisms and scenarios. Establishes and maintains effective and cooperative working relationships between Analytics, Actuarial, Finance, Clinical, and other department leaders as well as external customers. Technical skills required for success in this role include experience with SQL Server 2008/2012 and any other database/cloud environment is preferred; SQL queries; experience working with paid claims data sets and other applicable data sets including census and member eligibility. Experience in data mining and statistical analysis as well as data transformation/manipulation are required as well as expertise in MS Excel specifically using formulas, pivot tables, linked worksheets, graphing and other reporting and presentation features. Top Skills: - Bachelor's Degree or greater in Healthcare Analytics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics - MS Excel Expertise/SQL Server/SQL query experience - Experience analyzing healthcare analytics data as it pertains to cost and quality of care. -Experience using data visualization tools to create powerful stories for client presentation from various data sets and forms.
