Overview
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Develops, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care for each patient. ― Works with the interdisciplinary team and patient to set appropriate goals. ― Assesses and reassesses the patient’s condition and progress towards goals. ― Considers patient safety and takes initiative to identify and eliminate risks for the patient. ― Considers patient comfort and need to control pain when planning and delivering patient care. Oversees care of patient provided by nursing and other staff on the assigned unit/shift. ― Assigns RN, LPN, RNTs, and US staff to provide direct patient care appropriate to the patients’ needs and staff skill level and established staffing plan. Communicates and collaborates with other departments to coordinate care. ― Implements physician orders, conducting or delegating tasks to include medication administration, nutrition care, hygiene care, respiratory care, wound care, bowel and bladder management. ― Communicates abnormal findings of assessment and/or changes in patient condition to physician and/or nursing management or senior hospital leaders. Documents care and changes in patient condition. Takes remedial actions when needed. ― Documents completion of nursing interventions, results of assessments, and patients’ response to care and services received. Assumes the responsibility of Charge Nurse when needed and as assigned. Instructs patient/caregiver on tests, procedures, treatments, medications in understandable terms. Attends interdisciplinary conference, representing department and relaying nursing observations. Implements emergency response to crisis situations in the absence of senior management. Assists co-workers with direct patient care, answering lights, and other duties as needed. Demonstrates knowledge of, and compliance with, all hospital and company policies. ― Complies with policies on medication administration and patient care activities. Functions as a resource when staff have questions or need assistance with complex patient needs. Successfully completes all assigned training and annual skills competencies on or before due date. ― Completes annual skills review as determined by the hospital based on new responsibilities, specialized equipment, and high risk/problem prone/or low volume procedures. This includes but is not limited to waived testing, application of restraints, and emergency response techniques. Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively to complete assignments. Meets position requirements and performs essential functions. Reports questionable situations, concerns, complaints or harassment immediately. Schedule: - 7:00 pm - 7:00 am **Candidate has the option to work 3 or 4, 12 hour shifts per week, on the days of their choice** Location: Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cumming
Qualifications
- Are you vaccinated against COVID-19
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) in Georgia (GA)

- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
- American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
