Overview

What you need to know: - 13 week assignment - Extensive onboarding/screening process - Southwest of Detroit in Brownstown Charter Township - 1 yr experience Preferred - Registered Ultrasound Tech - Current BLS Certification required - Can negotiate the pay if needed Schedule: - Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Location: - 23050 West Road, HFWH CHS, Brownstown Charter Township, MI 48183 Required skills and experience: - Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares patient for the examination - Obtains additional information about the patient’s medical history as necessary - Prepares procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies - Prepares prescribed contrast media and solutions for administration to patients - Reviews clinical data on requisition, analyzes anatomical structure of patient, sets up equipment and, following protocols, and performs the procedure - Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information for the area of the body being studied - May assist Radiologist in performing diagnostic invasive procedures - Prepares and sets up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for the procedure - Ensures the adequate supplies such as needles, catheters, etc. are on hand and properly stored - Completes all necessary work sheets, logs and other patient records - Pre and post processes images as appropriate - Performs all documentation in the medical record as necessary, as well as within the radiology information system to support all clinical and billing functions - Demonstrates on a consistent basis Team member standards of excellence including: AIDET, open communication, responding in a timely manner, displaying a positive attitude, fostering innovation, respecting diversity, etc. - Performs Quality Assurance procedures as appropriate - PACS: resolves any/all image exceptions and ensures high quality image delivery into PACS; including viewing of images into PACS, and confirming image/series counts - RIS: completes all study indexing; including study begin, study end, and the completion of the study in the Radiology Information System - Reviews and confirms as necessary with Radiologist clinical protocols before preforming study - Performs all imaging procedures by demonstrating the principles of radiation protection: may involve shielding of patients, selection of appropriate equipment settings to reduction dose, using other ALARA techniques, etc. Job Description: - Under the direction of a Radiologist, specializes in the performance of diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician - Performs related functions according to department protocols - Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices

Qualifications

Required
  • Valid American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
  • Are you a Registered Ultrasound Technician?
  • 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
    • General Ultrasound
    • Vascular Ultrasound
  • Can you provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19?
