Lead Coder ensures assignment of diagnostic and procedure coding is carried out in compliance with applicable Medicare, Medicaid, and third party payer guidelines to ensure receipt of accurate reimbursement, while adhering to internal coding policies and expectations set forth by department management. Accurately abstracts information from the medical records and assigns ICD 9/10-CM, PRT-4 and HCPCS Level ll codes in compliance with established guidelines.
