Full Stack Developer or Engineer

Overview

Our client is searching for a Fullstack Engineer with 5+ years of delivering quality applications using React.js and AWS tech stack (Amplify, Cognito, EC2 ). The role will report to the Engineering Lead and work closely with the Head of Product. The right candidate will play a critical role in the development of our proprietary systems and applications. The duties will include designing software solutions to meet project requirements, maintaining and refactoring existing code, writing tests, and fixing bugs. We are a fast-paced start-up working iteratively to deliver an MVP at the start of the new year. This role will be essential for completing the buildout of our intelligent care navigation platform. This role is fully remote, with minimal travel required initially with the need for travel decreasing over time. We are also establishing a corporate office in New York, NY, but with no requirement to work from the office. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in building and deploying React Apps. The individual will need to be a very hands-on engineer and responsible for design/writing/testing of code. Code quality is of upmost importance with an eye on both current functional need and adaptability to scale in the future. Compliance is a major concern for this project, both from a security and from the healthcare industry perspective, as such the candidate should be familiar with compliance practices. Because of the nature of startups, individuals will be required to demonstrate both strong ownership and ability to collaborate openly and partner with business users during the development lifecycle. While care has been taken to gather complete requirements, there are still evolving factors driven by the business/patient care side which will require degrees of agility on behalf of engineering. Key Competencies and Qualifications ● 5-7 years technical experience building and deploying React.js apps ● Extensive experience with React centric patterns like: ○ Hooks/Effects ○ Refs ○ State Management (REDUX) ○ Synthetic Events ● Hands-on engineer ● Responsible for designing, writing, and testing code ● High aptitude for exceptional code quality ● Ability to code with present functional needs in mind but with adaptability to scale in future ● Experience in highly regulated industries that deal with security and compliance regulations ● Demonstrated strong ownership of work coupled with ability to collaborate openly and transparently ● Flexibility in working in startup environment with fast-evolving requirements ● Proficient with industry standard applications like Google Analytics and GitHub ● Experience with AWS (serverside, authentication, CI/CD, lambda, etc.) a nice to have ● Bonus points for experience with Twilio and/or Datadog
