Overview
Please Note and advise all candidates of the following: - Waco Center for Youth is a psychiatric residential treatment facility. - We serve teenagers (ages 13 through 17) with emotional difficulties and/or behavioral problems. Current Open Shifts: (Subject to change) Registered Nurse (RN)– 6 available positions - 4 day positions for 7:00 am – 7:00 pm (includes unpaid 30 min lunch break) - 2 night positions for 7:00 pm – 7:00 am (includes unpaid 30 min lunch break) - 2 week rotation: (1) 48-hours week & (1) 36 hour week every other weekend off Job Requirements for all candidates: - Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse and able to practice in the State of Texas - Prefer 2+ years as a direct care nurse - Prefer some experience in direct client care in a psychiatric type setting. - Experience needs to be hospital acute care, LTC , community clinics, public health, etc. (not Home Health or School Nurse) Pay Rate: - Negotiable - Baseline $40/hour Timeline for hiring: - Qualified submissions welcome now through 12-01-22 Approximate start dates: - 10-17-22, 11-01-22, 11-16-22 or 12-01-22 - Minimum 6 month contract, possibly longer, as long as there are not performance issues. - All compliance must be met before candidate can start. No exceptions. Duties of Agency Registered Nurse-RN - Performs routine nursing work. - Work involves providing for the assessment, care and treatment of patients. - May train others. - Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. - May assign nursing responsibilities to the Unit LVN in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. - The responsibility of the Unit RN is to provide for and supervise the professional nursing care of the individuals who reside in a state hospital setting. - The Unit RN is available to unit personnel to make nursing decisions on a 24- hour basis. - She/he is a member of the professional team and shares responsibility with other team members for the development of the individual’s program. - Work involves communication skills, i.e. relaying information to other team members, physicians, nurses; data entry, documentation, completing reports, maintaining personnel records, supervisory duties, and following all facility rules/policies. - Other duties as assigned by the Chief Nurse Executive and/or Assistant Nurse Executive. Other: - Regular rates for Registered Nurse (RN) per the State Staffing Rate Sheet apply for all positions - Must have valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR certification - Must have negative PPD results within last 12 months - COVID-19 testing with negative result required (we provide) - COVID-19 Vaccination Card (if applicable) - Must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check (We provide) - Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (Facility provides after interview) Hiring Manager with Interview Candidates: - Clarice & Whitney Include candidate’s contact information for immediate consideration.
