Overview

What you need to know: - Pay is $18, no flexibility here from the client - 12 week assignment, may extend up to 6 months - Clerical/admin. Primarily filling. - 100% onsite in Chatsworth, CA General Summary: Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Assistant I Accounting performs general clerical functions, filing, scanning data entry, and various other projects and duties as assigned. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Within a team environment, this position will perform the following responsibilities: • Maintain all Finance Division document files including scanning and filing (JV’s, JVA’s, ARB’s, CR’s, BD’s ARMS’s, CM’s). 50% • Perform general clerical duties in an accounting setting for the Finance Division. 20% • Provide administrative support to the Finance and Purchasing divisions as needed. 10% • Prepare daily cash deposits and related journal entries for Accounting Department. 10% • Review and input data related to family fees cash receipts. 5% • Assist Finance Division personnel with special projects, research, organizing and retrieving requested files, printing documents, and maintaining off-site data storage. 5% Non-Essential Duties And Responsibilities These duties include tasks that are required and comprise less than 5% of daily functions for this job: • Assist with preparation of audit schedules for annual financial audit and audits by funders/grantors as assigned. Assist auditors as needed. • Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies to our internal processes. • Perform research and analysis on projects as requested by the Accounting Supervisor, Accounting Manager, or CFO. • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings, and workshops. • Attend, participate, and/or plan department, program, staff and other meetings as necessary. • Complete other related duties as assigned. Job Specifications Minimum Required • Education: High School diploma or equivalent; accounting classes helpful but not required. • Experience: At least one year of previous work experience, preferably in an accounting environment. • Professional/Technical Certifications: n/a • Technical Requirements: o Strong computer skills, including basic knowledge of Excel and Word; proficient in all other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, etc.). Proficient in spreadsheet applications. • Bilingual Required: Ability to converse, write and/or translate in English and Choose an item. • Behavioral: o Strong and effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Able to interface with others in an effective, open and tactful manner. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative, and diplomatic working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, external contacts with funding sources, and the public. o Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Attention to details and strong organizational skills essential. Demonstrates ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with competing deadlines and prioritize work effectively while applying a sense of urgency to projects.
