Advanced Practice RN Location: Mexia State Supported Living Center Address: 540 Chapel Drive Mexia, Texas 76667 Position: Advanced practice RN with 2 years’ experience, proficient in computers/electronics health records Start Date: Immediately Days: Monday-Friday Must work Monday thru Friday - 40 hr/week Hours: 08:00am-5:00pm Note: - This position requires you to work on-call (after hour call) one night during the weekday, and one weekend a month generally call days may be slightly more or less from time to time.* - Note this position requires you to also work on-call/after hour call one night during the weekday, and one weekend a month generally call days may be slightly more or less from time to time. Job Description Advanced Practice RN The Advanced Practice RN at the State Center is responsible for the effective delivery of high-quality medical services to individuals with intellectual disabilities served. Work involves direct delivery of clinical practices and monitoring of medical services, participating in treatment team process, advocate for the medical needs of persons service, and working with the individual's families, Peer Family Nurse Practitioners, Medical Physicians and with consultants and community medical providers in other medical specialty areas. This position reports directly to the Medical Director of the State Supported Living Center and works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Note the Medical Director or designee will be your supervising physician. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications: Graduation from an advanced practice registered nurse educational program accredited by a national nursing education accrediting body that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Texas Board of Nursing with a master’s degree or higher level. Must be a registered nurse in the State of Texas or in another state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact. Must be certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Texas Board of Nursing The APRN specialization must be certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other recognized certifying agencies. Must have, or ability to obtain, a current registration certificate from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). Must possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI#) as defined by Medicare Part B. Knowledge: General knowledge of the health and human services /state supported living center system preferred. Experience in medical work - practicing medicine. Must be able to respond to campus medical emergencies, Communicate with nurses, support staff, and team members. Initial Screening Criteria: Graduation from an advanced practice registered nurse educational program accredited by a national nursing education accrediting body that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Texas Board of Nursing with a master’s degree or higher level. Familiarity with evidence-based medication.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
    • Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Texas (TX)
    • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) in Texas (TX)
    • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in Texas (TX)
    • clinical nurse specialist in Texas (TX)
