Physical Therapist Assistant

Overview

The San Antonio State Hospital is accepting submissions for the following position at our facility: - Full Time Physical Therapist Assistant Duties of PTA: - Administer treatments prescribed by PT to patients. Consult with supervising PT regarding patients as needed. - Disinfect and monitor equipment and materials in PT clinic - Complete all required training - Document clinical services in the EMR (electronic medical record). Job Requirements for all candidates - Current PTA license in the state of Texas - Knowledge or experience working with individuals with severe mental illness preferred. Timeline for hiring - Approximate start date February 1 - 40 hours per week - Minimum 3 month contract with option to extend up to a year - All compliance must be met before the candidate can start. No exceptions. Current Open Shifts - 1 full time position - Monday-Friday - 8:00am - 5:00 pm (includes unpaid lunch break), variable times may be needed to meet patient need (i.e. 7A - 4P) Other - Must have valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR certification - COVID-19 testing with negative result required (we provide) - COVID-19 Vaccination Card if applicable. - Must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check (Relode provides) - Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (Facility provides) Don’t hesitate to contact us anytime for additional info.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Valid American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) in Texas (TX)
• physical therapy (2+ years)
