Overview

The Kerrville State Hospital is requesting an internal medicine/family practice doctor for our maximum security unit. Address: Kerrville State Hospital 721 Thompson Dr Kerrville, Tx 78028 Position: - Physician (Family Practice or Internal Medicine) Schedule: - 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, on site - In addition to the 40 hour work week, backup medical phone call coverage is provided to the on-call psychiatrists who work on-site for overnight and weekends. Coverage is determined amongst medical clinic staff. Term: Immediately - Minimum of 3 months with option to extend (Start date is determined by completion of clearance requirements) Pay: - Negotiable - $100-$114/hourly Must have the following requirements: - Must be a Licensed Physician in the State of Texas - Provides direct patient care, medical assessments and treatment, face to face evaluations, responds to all emergency calls and provides on-call duties as assigned by Clinical Director. - Work with dually diagnosed adult patients, mental health, in a residential section, not outpatient clinic. - Abide with agency attendance and leave policy and abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of HHSC and Facility and performs other duties as assigned. - Will complete assigned duties in accordance with the duties assigned to permanent Physicians of the Facility. License, Certification, or Registration required: (All certifications must be current and remain as such while providing services at the Facility) - Physician - Active Texas Medical License from Texas Medical Board with no sanctions - Active US Dept of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification - Must be credential with hospitals utilized by the Facility - American Heart Association - approved course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and maintain that certification while providing services at the Facility.
