Overview

The San Antonio State Hospital is accepting submissions for the following position at our facility: 3 inpatient psychiatrists for our facility. Position: - Psychiatrist (on site preferred, tele-psych is not an option) # Needed: - 3 Hours and Days: - 40 hours per week. - Will consider Monday to Friday 8 hour days vs Tuesday to Friday or Monday to Thursday 10 hour days. - No required on-call. - Minimum of 6 months with option to extend - (Start date is determined by completion of clearance requirements) Location: - San Antonio State Hospital - 6711S. New Braunfels - San Antonio, Tx 78223 All applicant profiles MUST HAVE the following requirements: - Must be a Licensed Physician in the State of Texas - Provides direct patient care, psychiatric assessments and treatment, face to face evaluations. - Working knowledge of Texas mental health code (and testify in court as needed.) - Work with dually diagnosed adult patients, mental health, in a residential section, not outpatient clinic. - Will complete assigned duties in accordance with the duties assigned to permanent Physicians of the Facility. License, Certification, or Registration required: (All certifications must be current and remain as such while providing services at the Facility) - Physician - Active Texas Medical License from Texas Medical Board with no sanctions - Active US Dept of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification - Must be credential with hospitals utilized by the Facility - American Heart Association – approved course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and maintain that certification while providing services at the Facility.
