Social Worker - LMSW - Substance Use Disorder LOCATION Southgate, MI JOB TYPE Perm SHIFT: 8-5:30 M-F, Some weekend hrs may be required based on the program needs Description: The Adult Behavioral Health Substance Use Disorder Therapist (SUD) is responsible for maintaining a caseload consisting of clients, adolescents and adults, with a primary substance abuse and/or mental health diagnosis. The therapist is required to conduct intake assessments, to maintain the case record in a timely fashion, to complete authorizations with various funding sources in a timely manner as required, and to conduct appropriate treatment services based on medical necessity. Services are delivered in the office setting on a scheduled or walk-in basis. Paid holidays include: New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, ½ day for Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after (Black Friday), Christmas eve and Christmas Day. Any candidate that has applied directly is not eligible to be onboarded through and agency." --Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure Candidates without a state license can be considered but must obtain state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC or LLP) within a 60-day training period beginning on the date of hire. This period may be extended by up to an additional 60 days of training at the sole discretion of the employer. Failure to obtain licensure within the training period will result in the employee being unqualified to perform work functions. Beyond the training period, all state licensure must continually remain active, in effect, and free from disciplinary action. --Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire. --Must possess a CAADC credential, or be on an active, approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire. --Must have one year of experience (may include time spent in fieldwork or internship) treating or working with people who have been diagnosed with mental illness and substance use disorders. --Additional requirements include: cultural competency, the ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with individuals and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, and a willingness to be flexible. --Cannot accept candidates who are on student/work visas, and/or require sponsorship to work in the U.S. at this time.
