Social Worker - Adult Behavioral Health LOCATION Southgate, MI JOB TYPE Perm SHIFT NOTES 40 hrs/week 8:30am-7pm - 4 days/week Some evening and/or weekend hours may be required. Job Description: Crisis Therapists are responsible to provide crisis intervention and intensive case management services to adults with serious mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders who are 18 years of age and older and are at risk for psychiatric hospitalization, those who have already been admitted to inpatient psychiatric facilities and those who have demonstrated a high risk for readmission or repeated use of emergency psychiatric services. **Regular working hours are Monday thru Thursday 8:30 am to 7 pm and Friday 8:30 to 5 pm. Some evening and/or weekend hours may be required. Benefits: Travel: Mileage Reimbursement when personal vehicle used - IRS standard. .64 per mile Any training paid for by TGC. Paid holidays include: New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, ½ day for Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after (Black Friday), Christmas eve and Christmas Day. Any candidate that has applied directly is not eligible to be onboarded through and agency." --Candidates for the Crisis Therapist position must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure. Candidates without a state license can be considered but must obtain state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC or LLP) within a 60-day training period beginning on the date of hire. Failure to obtain licensure within the training period will result in the employee being unqualified to perform work functions. Beyond the training period, all state licensure must continually remain active, in effect, and free from disciplinary action. --Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record, and obtain a Michigan Chauffeur License within 30 days of employment. --Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional and Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist (SATS) credentials within 120 days of hire. --Candidates must possess a CAADC credential, or be on an active, approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire. --Upon hire, the application must be submitted for the Development Plan to MCBAP, with or without the required trainings, within 30 days of hire, or they will not be permitted to provide services. Documentation of required trainings must be submitted with the Development Plan Application or within 90 days of hire. --Candidates must have one year of experience (may include time spent in fieldwork or internship) treating or working with adults who have been diagnosed with serious mental illnesses. --Cannot accept candidates who are on student/work visas, and/or require sponsorship to work in the U.S. at this time. --Candidates for the Crisis Therapist position must have the ability to engage adults diagnosed with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders, their families, and supporters. --They must have expertise in helping clients identify their service needs and preferences, helping them build on their individual strengths, resources and support, and navigate the network of services available at The Guidance Center and in the community. --They must have an orientation toward providing community outreach services. Candidates must have the ability to provide trauma-informed care and appropriately handle crisis situations.
