Sonographer-Cardiac Location: Pittsfield MA JOB TYPE Temp OPENINGS 1 DESCRIPTION THIS IS A FIRM 10/ 2 START, NO EARLIER START DATES WILL BE CONSIDERED AT THIS TIME. The Cardiac Sonographer performs echocardiography exams, including sub-specialty exams such as stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography. Employing two-dimensional and color Spectral Doppler and M-mode imaging techniques, the sonographer images patients as requested by ordering physician. The sonographer works independently, consulting with the ordering or interpreting physician as needed, especially when unusual or unexpected findings are encountered. Must have the ability to synthesize varying amounts of data related to the patient’s medical history. The Sonographer is responsible for the patient’s welfare for the entire time the patient is in the outpatient facility, or for the length of time the inpatient is in the testing area. --Must be proficient in/or willing to cross train for vascular examinations. --Ability to function independently and proficiently. --Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies on a regular basis. --Ability to function in a high stress, work in intensive environment. --Must be able to operate HIS and CIS computers. --Must have working knowledge of clinical emergency equipment such as oxygen tanks and suction apparatus --Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload. Please note: RTO REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD WILL NOT BE APPROVED!! NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS OF RTO WILL BE ACCEPTED (less is better). Traveler must be willing to work Thanksgiving (including Friday and weekend after) AND Christmas-New Year Day Block, (If Needed/Scheduled). RTO during these holidays will not be approved. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS --2-3 years full-time experience in a dedicated echocardiography laboratory preferred --Vascular experience preferred --RDCS/RCS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer; ARMDS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer; CCI - Required --Certification as an RVT through the ARDMS, RVS through the CCI - Preferred --Meditech Expanse experience preferred AT LEAST TWO SPECIFIC INTERVIEW DATES/TIMES OF AVAILABILITY FOR INTERVIEW MUST BE ADDED TO TRIO/ PROFILE - PROFILES WILL NOT BE PRESENTED WITHOUT THIS INFORMATION. "ANYTIME" WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Qualifications

• ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Massachusetts (MA)
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Sonography (ARDMS) in Massachusetts (MA)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) in Massachusetts (MA)
• Associate degree or higher
• 2+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
  • Cardiac Sonography
  • Meditech
  • Operating HIS and CIS computers
