Registered Nurse - Med Surg LOCATION Petoskey, MI JOB TYPE Temp OPENINGS 1 START DATE 11/13/2023 DESCRIPTION Level 2 North is a 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit with a diverse patient population consisting of general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and is the stroke unit for the hospital. It is a challenging fast-paced environment with great learning opportunities for both graduate and experienced nurses. Nursing on this unit is patient-centered and focused on patient safety and delivery of quality care for positive patient outcomes. Using clinical pathways, patient education, and interactive communication as guides, all aspects of patient care are addressed by our exceptional Interdisciplinary Care Team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Clinical Expertise: Collaborates with other members of the health care team to develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized written plan of care based upon a physiological, psychosocial, spiritual assessment consistent with patient/significant other’s changing needs & goals, utilizing the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and the “Caring-Quality Model.” • Knowledge: Seeks life-long learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review. • Leadership/Credibility: Demonstrates leadership through sharing of knowledge, being a clinical resource, and professional role model. • Communication: Demonstrates effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary communication. • Productivity: Demonstrates enhanced time management skills and ability to assist others in order to contribute to the overall performance of the team. • Performs other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed by general and unit-specific competency-based objectives. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS 2+ Years of experience - Required Travel - highly preferred Health system-wide profile standards References NOT required. A skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is required. All other professions outside of Nursing are not required but preferred. Michigan license verification is required for nurses. Please provide LARA and Nursys; if there is a license hit, it would be in the traveler’s best interest to provide a write-up of what happened for the manager's review. Physical copies of certifications are only required in the profile if listed above. Full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment. Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan (MI)
- Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
