Urgent need for LVN's - please note that this is a psychiatric hospital and your candidates would be best equipped if they had some level of psychiatric experience. Will be working with Kids and Adults. Start Date: - November 1st Location: - Austin State Hospital - 4110 Guadalupe St, Austin, TX 78751 Current Open Shifts: - 6:45am-3:15pm (7a to 3p) or 2:45pm-11:15pm (3p to 11p) - Every other weekend off (non negotiable) More Info on Shifts: - Please verify that Candidate is available for 10 consecutive days of training, M-F, 8-5 (this is non-negotiable). - They are also interested in LVNs willing to work every Saturday and Sunday. This weekend shift could be 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, or 7am-11pm. If they work the weekend schedule they can also pick up another 8 hour shift for a full 40 per week. Pay: - $40/hr starting Salary Job Requirements for all candidates: - Attends to work on a regular basis - Must be at least 21 years of age - Must have a valid Driver’s License - Graduation from a standard senior high School or equivalent - Prefer experience in direct client care. - Basic computer skills Other: - COVID-19 testing with negative result required (facility provides) - Must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check (Relode provides) - Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (facility provides) Duties of Direct Care LVN: The LVN will provide for the care, treatment, and general welfare of individuals residing at the State Supported Living Center who have complex medical, mental health and/or behavioral health issues. Performs basic and advanced routine and non-routine nursing tasks to promote the health of the individuals within the assigned areas and assigned shift including medication administration, wound care, breathing treatments, collecting specimens, gastrostomy care and emergency care. Also will assist RNs with implementation of protocols, procedures and programs to improve overall health and safety of staff and individuals. Works under the limited supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
