Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in Texas (TX)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) in Texas (TX)

El Paso State Supported Living Center is accepting submissions for the following position at our facility: - Registered Dietician Deadline for Submittals is end of day 10/26. Approximate Start Date: - November 1 Department: - Habilitation Department - El Paso State Supported Living Center Location: - 6700 Delta Drive, El Paso, TX 79905 Requested Schedule: - Dietician will typically work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Mon-Fri), but shift pattern is subject to change as determined by the Habilitation Services Director to meet needs of the hospital. - No holiday, after-hour, or weekend shifts Duties of the Dietician: - Provide nutrition care to individuals throughout El Paso State Supported Living Center. - Create nutrition plans to improve the health and physical conditions of individuals. - Consults to individuals, families, and treatment team regarding nutrition needs - Writes appropriate nutrition related recommendations in the medical record - Approves individuals’ menus and provides this information to the Food Services Director - Analyzes the individuals’ health status, goals, and dietary restrictions, tracks the patient’s dietary intake and progress and educating individuals on how to maintain a balanced diet. Job Requirements for all candidates: - Graduation from an accredited college or university with BS in Dietetics and or Nutrition - Must be Registered Dietician (RD) with the National Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics - Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners - Possess valid Texas driver’s license - Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Dietician - Must possess excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate with Physicians, staff, individuals’, and individuals’ family - Must be certified by the American Heart Association –BLS in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and maintain that certification while providing services Additional Notes: - Must submit to HHSC required drug test (Relode will supply) - Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting (Facility will supply)
