Overview
As the Medical Director for our client's hospice and palliative care program in Brooklyn Heights, OH, you will be responsible for overseeing the medical aspect of patient care, providing expertise in symptom management, and ensuring services are delivered at the highest quality standards. This is a part-time, contracted position. Key Responsibilities ● Provide oversight of the medical component of palliative care and hospice plan of care ● Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers ● Consults with, diagnoses and treats patients suitable for hospice and palliative care in the service areas of the agency, within private residences, extended care facilities, hospitals and other facilities ● Completes documentation required for billing for services provided ● Acts as a resource to the medical community and hospice field staff regarding symptom management, palliative care and hospice c care ● Develops and provides educational programs for community physicians, medical and agency staff regarding hospice and palliative care ● Assists with developing medical policies and procedures to ensure services provided are in accordance with highest quality, professional and ethical standards ● Provides hospice medical direction in interdisciplinary team meetings ● Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies Schedule and Shift Details ● 8-10 hrs/wk, on-call duties may apply. Contracted position - 1 year. Travel ● Occasional travel for services provided in patient’s home, community and facility settings; client/customer contact
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree

ALL of the following valid licenses/certifications:
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)

ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) in Ohio (OH)
- Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in Ohio (OH)
- Board-certified in Hospice and/or Palliative Medicine?
