Job Title: Lead Surgical Tech The Highlights: - Named among the nation’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals® by Truven Health Analytics - Named among the nation’s 15 Top Health Systems by Thomson Reuters. - Primary Stroke Center, certified by The Joint Commission, and was the first hospital in Central Texas to earn Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification Necessary Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program - Recent clinical experience and competency in designated specialties. - Current certification as BLS Healthcare Provider - Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (if work experience as surgical tech prior to 9/1/09, employee need not have national surg tech certification (grandfathered) Schedule: Full-time Job Description: The lead surgical technologist, under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and the direction of the Nurse Manager, accepts overall responsibility for a designated surgical area of specialty. The lead tech is responsible for assuring all equipment and instruments are operational. Ensures adequacy and organization of equipment, supplies and instruments. Knowledgeable regarding service specific equipment and instruments which are out for repair or need replacement.
