Overview

Urgent need for PNA's - please note that this is a psychiatric hospital and your candidates would be best equipped if they had some level of psychiatric experience. Will be working with Kids and Adults. Start Date: - October 1st or October 16th Location: - Austin State Hospital - 4110 Guadalupe St, Austin, TX 78751 Current Open Shifts: - Morning or evenings **Please verify that Candidate is available for 10 consecutive days of training, M-F, 8-5 (this is non-negotiable). Pay: - $18-$19/hr starting Salary Job Requirements for all candidates: - Attends to work on a regular basis - Must be at least 21 years of age - Must have a valid Driver’s License - Graduation from a standard senior high School or equivalent - Must be able to pass CPR and TIPS (Trauma Intervention Protection Strategies) - Prefer experience in direct client care. - Basic computer skills Duties of Direct Care PNA - Provide direct care of clients (emergency, health and personal care). - Provide therapeutic interactions with clients. - Monitor during meals and activities. - Monitor clients psychiatric symptoms or health state and document in records as needed. - Document Clients behaviors and interactions. - Performs other duties as assigned by the Unit Manager and/or Resident Specialist V. Other: - COVID-19 testing with negative result required (facility provides) - Must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check (Relode provides) - Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (facility provides)

Qualifications

Required
  • High School/GED
  • ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
    • American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
  • direct patient care (2+ years)
  • Valid Regular Driver License (DL)
