CT Technologist
Overview
Required skills and experience: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certification Required: ARRT- R&N (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) and AZ Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE). ARRT- CT; obtain CT certification within 2 years of hire/transfer date. Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association. Graduate of an accredited radiology program. 1+ years experience as a radiologic technologist. Previous CT experience preferred What you need to know: JOB SUMMARY: Performs computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares and positions patients, selecting appropriate technical parameters. Administers contrast media and medications as per regulations. Monitors patient during procedures and reports any abnormalities. Reviews and updates imaging protocols as needed. Follows radiation safety guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality. Collects and documents patient history, verifies orders, and ensures proper identity verification. Completes necessary consent, pregnancy, and medication reconciliation forms. Inputs requisitions and provides image history to radiologists for review. Starts IV access, performs injections, and manages IV complications. Manages oxygen therapy, including changing tanks and adjusting flow rates. Ensures radiation safety, especially for women of childbearing age. Documents patient education when appropriate.
