Local Hospice Medical Director
Overview
This role offers physicians a flexible leadership opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care in their local communities. Candidates will partner with experienced interdisciplinary teams and have the chance to make a meaningful impact while maintaining a flexible schedule that complements their current practice. Key Responsibilities ● Provide medical oversight for hospice patients within assigned service area ● Determine and certify hospice eligibility ● Lead and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings ● Support symptom management and medication oversight ● Complete physician documentation including certifications and death certificates ● Serve as a clinical resource for nurses and the care team ● Build relationships with community physicians, hospitals, and referral partners Schedule and Shift Details ● Flexible schedule with primarily remote work; occasional in-person interdisciplinary meetings, community outreach, and leadership activities within assigned market. Travel ● Occasional travel for in-person meetings and community outreach within assigned local market.
