Interventional Cardiologist – On-Call Contract Opportunity | Salt Lake City, UT Submission Deadline: September 14 Compensation is still being worked out. Reward is still being figured out as well! We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Interventional Cardiologist for an exciting contract opportunity providing on-call interventional cardiology coverage at a major federal healthcare facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Interventional Cardiologist looking to add flexible contract work while providing care to our nation's Veterans. The Opportunity On-call and as-needed coverage Services performed on-site in Salt Lake City, UT Coverage includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and other times when the facility clinic is closed Schedule will generally be provided in advance On-call physician must be reachable by phone within 5 minutes and able to report on-site within 30 minutes Estimated contract period: September 2026 through August 2027 Opportunity to become part of a team providing specialized cardiovascular and interventional services to Veterans The VA describes this as a strictly on-call, as-needed assignment, with scheduling coordinated in advance by the facility. Scope of Practice The Interventional Cardiologist will provide consultative and procedural care involving cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures. The scope may include: Cardiac catheterization Percutaneous coronary and vascular interventions Balloon angioplasty Atherectomy Endoluminal stenting Intravascular ultrasound Intra-coronary Doppler flow measurements Thrombectomy procedures Pericardiocentesis Endocardial biopsies Intra-aortic balloon device placement High-risk coronary and peripheral vascular procedures Management of patients before, during, and following interventional procedures The role also includes appropriate patient documentation, communication of test results, discharge planning, and compliance with facility and professional standards. Qualifications To be considered, physicians should have: MD or DO Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Interventional Cardiology Completed accredited residency training leading to eligibility for board certification in cardiology Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in at least one U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or Washington, DC Current BLS and ACLS Current DEA registration Active NPI Strong clinical competency and experience in interventional cardiology procedures Ability to complete VA credentialing and privileging requirements The VA requires unrestricted licensure and notes that physicians with certain prior license restrictions, suspensions, revocations, or similar actions will not be considered for this contract.
