Neurosurgeon VA Contract Opportunity

Overview

This long-term contract opportunity offers neurosurgeons the chance to provide comprehensive onsite neurosurgical care to Veterans at a major medical center. The role includes clinical, surgical, and on-call responsibilities with support from a full VA medical team and resources. Candidates will join a collaborative environment focused on high-quality patient care and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities ● Provide outpatient neurosurgery consultations and follow-up care ● Perform surgical and operative neurosurgical procedures including spinal and cranial surgeries ● Manage intraoperative care and postoperative rounding in SICU and inpatient wards ● Conduct inpatient neurosurgical consultations and bedside consultations for non-ambulatory patients ● Provide patient and family discharge education and follow-up planning ● Complete timely clinical documentation in the VA electronic medical record ● Participate in morbidity and mortality conferences and quality improvement activities ● Provide 24/7 neurosurgical call coverage as required Schedule and Shift Details ● Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM onsite clinical and OR coverage; weekend inpatient rounding as needed; 24/7 on-call coverage with 15-minute telephone response and 60-minute onsite response requirements

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree
• ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
  • Board Eligible
  • Board Certified

• Surgery - Neurological (1+ years)
