Overview
This position is responsible for monitoring, supporting, and participating in the development/enhancements of distributive system management platforms. "Must Have" Skills for This Job: - Undergraduate degree - Work experience, 7-10 years - Requires strong problem solving and analytical skills - Requires excellent communication skills and ability to write and discuss clear procedures regarding technical issues - Requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of personnel. - In-depth understanding of BGP. Must understand BGP path selection, path attributes, route filtering, and redistribution. - Cisco IOS XE configuration and troubleshooting - Basic understanding of QoS and its use in an enterprise WAN - End-to-end circuit provisioning - Understanding of multi-area OSPF. Route summarization and passive interfaces - Cisco IOS XE configuration and troubleshooting - Centralized IP address assignments using DHCP - Wireless LAN fundamentals - Basic understanding of 802.1x in a campus environment - In-depth understanding of Cisco Nexus 7000 and 9000 platforms - Strong understanding of layer 1 and 2 protocols - VXLAN fundamentals utilizing BGP EVPN - Scripting to automate repetitive or complex tasks - Basic understanding of VMware ESXi network redundancy and NSX - Cloud (AWS) fundamentals Requires Experience in the following - Evaluating technical requirements and producing detailed design documentation - Uncovering risks and opportunities in a data center - Planning, justifying, and implementing large scale projects - Designing and operating a Cisco Nexus data center environment - Troubleshooting complex issues and completing a root cause analysis - Amazon VPC design - Creating device configurations based on pre-defined templates - Troubleshooting end user connectivity issues covering both wireless and wired - Designing and supporting inter-VLAN routing with first hop redundancy - Basic troubleshooting of IP and OSPF - Creating comprehensive design documents and plans - Building and maintaining a global wide area network - Designing and configuring networks utilizing Cisco ASR 1000 and ISR 4000 series routers - Designing and operating multi-homed internet connectivity - Provisioning and coordinating the installation of WAN circuits with carriers Knowledge for this Job: - Network data flow documentation - Network Monitoring tools and practices - Network LAN, WAN and Datacenter design and implementation - Data center technologies and enterprise designs - Change Management methodologies preferred Tell Me About this Job: - Resolve issues through level 3 in a primarily Cisco network infrastructure - Provide guidance to junior infrastructure analysts and follows guidance and direction from Lead and senior -Perform day to day operations to maintain SLAs and business functions - Acquire knowledge of new technologies and may implement to benefit Horizon and disseminate this information to IT staff members - Manage vendor relationships including hardware, software, and maintenance contracts - Compile business and technical design requirements - Escalate issues when necessary to senior members of the team for resolution - Take ownership of all assigned level II and III issues and be responsible for follow up from end to end - Documenting processes and procedures for infrastructure support
