Overview
Tumor Registrar Chicago, IL Full-time, Day Shift Consistent with the mission, philosophy, and policies, the Tumor Registrar collects, manages and analyzes cancer data according to Illinois State Cancer Reporting regulations and standards of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS), Commission on Cancer (CoC). Meeting compliance of the commission on cancer standards, participates with cancer program goals, projects, clinical research and other activities. Direct involvement with the cancer committee, multidisciplinary tumor boards, QA/QI initiatives, and survival and outcome data. Top "must haves" for this job: - Associates or Bachelors required. - Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) (or eligible), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) (or eligible), Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR). - Two full years of experience in the cancer registry field preferred, six-month recent coding experience – student experience included. - Ability to interpret legal requirements required.
