Cath Lab Technician

Overview

The Cath Lab Technician will perform hemodynamic monitoring procedures of a highly specialized nature as well as assist the physician during all procedures. In this position, the candidate will work with patients from adolescents to geriatrics and will complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. In addition, the Cardiovascular Technician will assist other nurses with emergency procedures and will assume responsibility for maintenance and quality control of equipment. Other duties include cleaning and packaging instruments/supplies for sterilization and assuming the role of monitor tech as needed. Requirements: • High school graduate or equivalent • 1 year healthcare experience • Ability to work Mon - Fri 7-3 with rotating on call • Hemodynamic monitoring experience required • BLS required; ACLS within 12 months of hire into position • 1 year in cardiac cath lab preferred • Formal cardiovascular technology training preferred
