Director - Laboratory

Overview

We are seeking a Director of Laboratory who will be responsible for the quality and quantity of all work performed across all areas of the laboratory while ensuring all practices focus on and guarantee patient safety. The director will also be responsible for specimen collection and testing, as well as for technical development, implementation, and integration. The Director of Laboratory will also maintain fiscal stability, and productivity by monitoring workload of functional areas; identifying peak and slack periods; making operational or staffing adjustments. Additionally, he or she will implement new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives; preparing proposals; developing and performing parallel testing; monitoring progress, and will recruit and train new employees. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science Specialty - required • Meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor- required • Acute care laboratory experience - required • 5 years of progressive supervisory experience in an acute care facility- required • Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or equivalent) - required • Masters in Allied Health Specialty or Health Administration or Business- preferred • Lab Director experience- strongly preferred
