Overview

We are seeking a capable and organized anesthesiologist to be part of our team in Saginaw Michigan for an ongoing locum tenens assignment that will begin in January or February. This opportunity includes 1:4 on call (beeper call within a 30-minute radius), with competitive compensation and 100% supervision, even on call. In this role, the anesthesiologist will be off every fifth week, although he or she may be able to negotiate to work if needed. We welcome both new grads and experienced anesthesiologists with 1 or more years of experience to apply. The duties and responsibilities of this role will include: • Evaluating patients to formulate an adequate anesthetic plan. • Managing and administering anesthesia during surgical procedures. • Recording patient medical history and anesthetic amounts. • Monitoring, managing, and treating changes in patient functions during operations, including breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure. • Monitoring conditions of patients before, during, and after anesthesia to look out for adverse reactions. • Coordinating and directing a team of nurses, medical technicians, and other healthcare professionals. • Ordering x-rays, laboratory tests, and other necessary diagnostic procedures. • Collaborating and communicating with other medical professionals to determine care plans and provide high-quality patient care. • Conducting research to make advancements in the field of anesthesiology. Successful candidates will have: • Certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology • Board Certification and an active Michigan license • TB test required • Cardiac experience required • The following certifications: ACLS (advanced cardiac life support or advanced cardiovascular life support), DEA (drug enforcement administration) • One or more years experience in an anesthesiologist role is preferred • Case logs required •Proficiency in spinals *Note: An onsite interview is mandatory for this location.
