Overview
Provide a full range of in-patient medical care to patients who have been admitted to the hospital. (Mainly do admissions) Evaluate patients for admission to the hospitalist service. Respond to nursing/pharmacy pages related to patients on the hospitalist service. Provide leadership to staff in the provision of appropriate medical care. Order tests, medications and treatments. Consult with specialists regarding patients. Document and code treatments in patient medical records and submit documentation of procedures for billing purposes. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required skills & experience (the “must haves” to be considered): - Medical degree or foreign equivalent; - Completion of an Internal Medicine residency program; - Possession of, or eligibility for, Maryland medical license; and - Possess board certification in Internal Medicine or be certified by residency director as eligible to sit for board exams.
