Lead Coding Specialist

Overview

Job Title: Coding Specialist Job Description: As the Coding Specialist, you will complete appropriate paperwork and documentation regarding claim/encounter diagnosis information, review high volume of medical records to determine if specific disease conditions were overlooked in billing, and perform onsite or electronic medical record reviews and abstract appropriate medical records, in order to abstract specified and required clinical data elements for quality reporting. Required skills & experience (the “must haves” to be considered): - Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required - At least 2-3 years of relevant professional experience, including Coding and auditing experience required in ICD-10-CM, CPT coding and/or quality - Certification in coding required (CPC, CRC, CCP, CCS) - Knowledge of the Medicare and its rules, regulations, forms and procedures - Knowledge of medical terminology and treatment procedures - Must have outpatient experience, preferably in family med or internal med - Valid Driver’s License and vehicle required.
