Overview
Job Description The Cerner Population Health Application Analyst is responsible for advancing the functionality and operational efficiency of assigned information systems and solutions. This includes the measurement of various population health risk indicators, readmission issues, and the operationalization of this data/information. This entails analysis, design and development of new software modules; advising, assisting, and training customers in the operation and administration of their systems; and collaborating with customers to enhance their work methodologies and tools. This will be a highly supported role, meeting regularly with operational partners in the Care Management, Ambulatory, and Information Systems departments. The Application Analyst supports the Project Management activities required to deliver valuable relevant solutions and assists in the development of project schedules, plans and timelines. The Application Analyst reports directly to the Manager, while receiving leadership from Senior and Lead Application Analysts. Principal Accountabilities Project Planning ● With moderate supervision by Manager or Team Lead, sets priorities, understands business and clinical applications, answers technical questions and performs all assigned tasks. ● Reason: To ensure the efficient and effective support of information systems for MHHS. Applications Development ● Uses PC system development tools to develop and deploy queries, simple applications, moderately complex reports and other business solutions. ● Reason: To provide the technical know-how required to satisfy customer requirements for enhanced system functionality. Analysis/Design ● Translates customer requests into software application solution specifications, appropriate to assigned tasks. ● Reason: To implement business innovation that produces sustainable competitive advantage for MHHS. Problem Solving ● Identifies issues and concerns and communicates them to Team Lead and/or Manager as appropriate. ● Develops options and recommendations. ● Reason: To quickly resolve operational problems and questions and minimize impact on end-user productivity and overall impact to organization. Application Support ● Assists customers with optimizing their use of assigned applications and specific project-driven tasks. ● Participates in after-hours application support by rotating call schedule on a regular basis. ● Reason: To improve and ensure the continued maximum effective operational efficiency of MH’s information systems. Required skills & experience (the "must haves" to be considered) Minimum Qualifications Education: Associates degree OR two (2) years experience Experience / Knowledge / Skills: ● Direct experience with Cerner Population Health modules (such as HealtheIntent, HealtheRegistry, HealtheCare, etc) is NOT necessary. 2+ years of experience in a build role on a Cerner module is necessary, but it's not module-specific. ● eCW experience is a "nice-to-have" ● Industry training and increasingly responsible experience with knowledge and skills in a large, complex corporate Information System ● Basic working knowledge of application support, development tools and methodologies ● Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in a large, corporate systems development and implementation activities in a wide variety of Healthcare Management Information Systems (MIS) experience in system analysis, design, building, testing and implementation preferred What you need to know ● This role combines technical and client-facing responsibilities.
