Job Description The Senior Cerner Application Analyst is responsible for the analysis, building, testing and implementing of information systems and solutions. The Senior Application Analyst is accountable for providing knowledge and skills in assigned software applications and various system environments. This includes the measurement of various population health risk indicators, readmission issues, and the operationalization of this data/information. The Senior Application Analyst is responsible for developing and following project schedules, plans, reviews and timelines. The Senior Application Analyst is responsible for functioning as a technical resource and to provide knowledge in system installations, building, testing, customization and production support of complex information systems. A combined technical and client-facing role, the Senior Application Analyst participates in project teams, coordinates work assignments and performs complex problem resolution as identified. The Senior Application Analyst designs training plans, conducts and evaluates training sessions for end-users and Information Systems staff. Specific training experience is a "nice-to-have." The Senior Application Analyst may lead or support the Project Management activities required to deliver business-oriented, valuable and relevant solutions. The Senior Application Analyst reports directly to the Manager, and works under the guidance of the Lead Application Analyst. Principal Accountabilities Technical Administration ● Responsible for providing technical knowledge in the support of software applications and various system environments. ● Performs the analysis, design, building, testing, and implementing of computer programs and systems. ● Demonstrates and applies information systems theory, processes and methodologies. ● Reason: To effectively provide the technical skills required to successfully support system programs and applications that meet the technical requirements. ● Applies appropriate theories and procedures that meet the business objectives of the company. Planning & Coordinating ● Develops, prioritizes and executes projects according to established schedules and timeframes. ● Maintains an effective level of coordination on all assigned projects. ● Documents and reports on all plans, priorities and schedules. ● Informs Manager on status of all projects and assignments in the form of weekly activity reports. ● Reason: To ensure an effective method of planning and coordinating project management, as well as ensure that projects are completed according to set schedules, and reported to management on a regular basis. Systems Development ● Translates user systems needs into alternative technical solutions. Performs project reviews and process walkthroughs incorporating technical and business solutions that will enhance user productivity and department service levels. ● Reason: To provide the technical skills required to successfully design, develop, deploy and maintain the technologies needed to satisfy user and applications strategies at a minimum cost and with maximum effectiveness. Technical Standards ● Acts as an advocate for setting and enforcing technical development, application support and information management standards within and outside of the information systems department. ● Reason: To ensure that standards are established and followed consistently for the benefit of the company. Application Support ● Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and techniques in supporting Application Analysts and Senior Application Analysts in development projects and complex problem solving efforts. ● Participates in after-hours technical support by rotating call schedule on a regular basis. ● Reason: To provide resolution methods and alternatives to problems that can jeopardize the processes and workflow of MH’s systems. To provide technical solutions to critical issues. Training ● Prepares and conducts training sessions for staff. ● Reason: To ensure staff is trained and knowledgeable in the use of computer programs and systems. Required skills & experience (the "must haves" to be considered) Minimum Qualifications Education: Associates degree AND two (2) years experience; OR four (4) years experience Experience / Knowledge / Skills: ● Direct experience with Cerner Population Health modules (such as HealtheIntent, HealtheRegistry, HealtheCare, etc) is NOT necessary. 2+ (or 4+ without a degree) years of experience in a build role on a Cerner module is necessary, but it's not module-specific. ● eCW experience is a "nice-to-have" ● Industry training and increasingly responsible experience with knowledge and skills in a large, complex corporate Information System ● Basic working knowledge of application support, development tools and methodologies ● Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in a large, corporate systems development and implementation activities in a wide variety of Healthcare Management Information Systems (MIS) experience in system analysis, design, building, testing and implementation preferred What you need to know ● This role combines technical and client-facing responsibilities. Candidates being considered must be comfortable leading meetings and performing build. ● This is a permanent opportunity in the Houston, TX area. ● Relocation will not be considered for this role, unless the candidate has deep, direct HealtheIntent experience.
