Application Architect/Developer

Overview

Seeking an Application Architect to contribute to a new cutting-edge platform supporting big name partners and customers. In this fast-paced environment, the team works with Product, QA, Operations, and Analytics to meet business needs. This position is a chance to join a highly collaborative agile team working on breaking new ground in the health information industry. An ideal candidate should be fluent in multiple programming languages, passionate about delivering quality software, willing to lead when specs are less-than-perfect, and comfortable with modern front-end and back-end web development conventions and frameworks. The candidate should be full of enthusiasm for our vision to help people manage all their health in one place, love the craft of software development, and be a fast learner, self-driven, and detail focused. The candidate should be proficient in or have a strong desire to learn ReactJS, NodeJS, and mobile development on the IOS or Android stack. Strong analytical skills are a must when designing our platform architecture. The candidate should be comfortable writing and following requirement documents, designing future proof solutions, and championing improvements and innovations. Required skills & experience (the “must haves” to be considered) - Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience - Total 5 years of development experience - Proficient in more than one language: Java, Scala, Python, NodeJS (Functional languages a plus) - A strong understanding of concurrent, parallel, and distributed systems - Proficient in test driven development (TDD) and continuous deployment practices - Experience with data and processes in Salesforce, Vertica, SSIS, Microsoft SQL Server, MSMQ, Amazon SNS, Kafka, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and GIT a plus - Experience with machine learning algorithms and big data processing a plus - Experience with mobile development a plus - History of contribution to open-source software projects a plus What you need to know - Plan and design clean RESTful APIs that conform to company standards and best practices - Understand and model health information within "source of truth" domains built for scale - Build libraries to be leveraged across the enterprise - Plan, design, and operate complete front and backend applications by writing clean code and finding simple solutions to complex problems - Opportunity to work for a rapidly growing organization with top-notch compensation, benefits and culture
