Job Description Mid-level Cerner PowerChart Application Analyst role available in Houston, TX! The PowerChart Analyst is responsible for advancing the functionality and operational efficiency of assigned information systems and solutions. This entails analysis, design and development of new software modules; advising, assisting, and training customers in the operation and administration of their systems; and collaborating with customers to enhance their work methodologies and tools. The Application Analyst possesses sufficient technical expertise to support an assigned application, but may be called upon to assist with multiple applications. The Application Analyst supports the Project Management activities required to deliver valuable relevant solutions and assists in the development of project schedules, plans and timelines. The Application Analyst reports directly to the Manager, while receiving leadership from Senior and Lead Application Analysts. Principal Accountabilities Project Planning o Uses PC system development tools to develop and deploy queries, simple applications, moderately complex reports and other business solutions. o Reason: To provide the technical know-how required to satisfy customer requirements for enhanced system functionality. Analysis/Design o Translates customer requests into software application solution specifications, appropriate to assigned tasks. o Reason: To implement business innovation that produces sustainable competitive advantage for the health system. Technical Administration o Maintains detailed technical knowledge of assigned applications. o Reason: To demonstrate current knowledge of services and applications and ensure accurate support of user requests and concerns. Problem Solving o Identifies issues and concerns and communicates them to Team Lead and/or Manager as appropriate. o Develops options and recommendations. o Reason: To quickly resolve operational problems and questions and minimize impact on end-user productivity and overall impact to organization. Required skills & experience (the "must haves" to be considered) Minimum Qualifications Education: Associates degree or two 2 years experience Licenses/Certifications: (None) Experience / Knowledge / Skills: o Industry training and increasingly responsible experience with knowledge and skills in a large, complex corporate Information System o Basic working knowledge of application support, development tools and methodologies o Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in a large, corporate systems development and implementation activities in a wide variety of Healthcare Management Information Systems (MIS) experience in system analysis, design, building, testing and implementation preferred Key Items: · HealtheLife · PowerChart* · Understanding of Cerner back-end solutions* · Understanding of how interfaces work with Cerner solutions · Message Center · PM Launch · HNA Combine · ExplorerMenu/DTA · Cerner Scheduling · Discern Visual Developer · Clinical View Manager · Core Code Builder *required items What you need to know - This role could be either a full-time, permanent placement; OR a 90-day contract-to-hire. - No remote available for this role. - Heavy consideration will be provided to candidates that currently reside in the Houston area and don't require relocation.
