Required Skills and Experience 1. Graduate of an AMA accredited program. 2. Indiana Registered Respiratory Therapist license. 3. Certified in Basic Life Support. Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or able to obtain within 3 months of hire. 4. Previous experience in the pulmonary rehab setting, clinical education and teaching, preferred What You Need to Know - Responsible for patient assessments, daily exercise prescription, patient education, patient follow ups and physician communication. - Provides patient education, regarding disease process, lifestyle management, psychosocial wellbeing, and nutrition. - Works with patients to ensure they are progressing toward their goals and to identify any clinical issues that might require physician intervention. - Prepares documentation to align with departmental protocols as well as the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehab (AACVPR) and Medicare guidelines. Avoid use of brand names and proprietary terms, e.g., “FedEx.” Do not state or imply the gender of incumbents. - Assess need for and initiate oxygen therapy, assessing efficacy and appropriateness through use of physical assessment, SpO2, and patient interaction. - Assists in administration of cardiopulmonary stress testing.
