Overview
Required Skills and Experience 1. Bachelor's Degree Healthcare administration, health information management, public health, health policy, business administration, or related field is required 2. Master's Degree Healthcare administration, health information management, public health, health policy, business administration, health law, or related field is preferred 3. 7 years Managed Care compliance or operations to include 4 years’ Medicare Advantage regulatory compliance is required 4. Knowledge and experience in healthcare operations, release of information requirements, patient’s privacy rights under HIPAA, and electronic health records. 5. Knowledge and experience with health information exchanges and learning management systems. 6. Demonstrated organization, facilitation, written and oral communication and presentation skills. 7. High degree of interpersonal skills, influence, negotiations and problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills. 8. Ability to work cross functionally and collaborate with other departments and organizations on compliance matters. 9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. 10. Must be able to frequently problem solve, make decisions, interpret data, organize and analyze work flow, write, plan, and use simple arithmetic. 11. Must be able to operate general office equipment including but not limited to: computer, phones, and related media and information devices. 12. Must have the ability to communicate in writing, speaking, and hearing, both in person and/or by telephone. 13. Ability to manage and train others. What You Need to Know - Develop an annual privacy compliance work plan(s) focused on continuous improvement of processes in identified risk areas for the organization's entities. - Perform initial and periodic assessments and conduct related ongoing privacy compliance auditing and monitoring activities in coordination with privacy teams, when needed. - Initiate, facilitate and promote activities to foster privacy awareness and education within the organization. - Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures that address specific risk areas to the Privacy Program. - Facilitate internal reporting processes including the Compliance Hotline and open lines of communication for reporting of questions or concerns by employees, contractors, patients or others. - Local 10% May require travel to meet with providers or for compliance related meetings.
