What you need to know: The Senior Accountant manages the daily accounting, processing, and reporting activities required of the finance department. The Senior Accountant will ensure they are providing effective and efficient service to the business operators and other customers, and that employees/contractors are fully supported. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will have opportunities with acquisition integration and systems implementation projects. The Senior Accountant will also assist the Controller with ad hoc financial analysis to aid in decision making. Duties and Responsibilities: • Supervise and coordinate the following financial services: bank reconciliation, clearing accounts, payment receipts, closing the monthly and annual accounts, general ledger accounting and reconciliation to budget • Prepare financial information and reports, through instruction of the Controller, for operational and external reporting purposes • Work directly with financial statement auditors and tax preparers for informational requests • Track progress against budgets by groups and teams on a periodic basis • Work with groups and teams to resolve any issues around meeting goals/budgets • Oversee monthly financial statement close process and accounting processes • Maintain accurate recording of financial transactions, including reconciliations and supporting schedules for all general ledger accounts, in accordance with GAAP • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports and supporting schedules, including financial statements, budget and forecasts • Responsibility for review and preparation of variance explanations compared to prior year, prior quarter and forecast for management reporting
