Required skills & experience (the “must haves” to be considered) 1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required 2. Active IL license is required 3. PALS, ACLS and BLS certifications are required 4. Working knowledge of EPIC is strongly preferred 5. Minimum of 1 year experience working as a CRNA is preferred What you need to know -January 2020 ongoing (full-time hours each week) -Monday-Friday -Beeper call 1:7 (CRNA is primary responded on call with physician back up) 30 min response time Will be covering epidurals for labor (stay in house after placement of labor epidural). -General, ortho, straight-forward cases, endo, healthy peds ENT, and OB. No hearts, heads, or trauma. -Locums would be able to do many spinals on a regular basis when assigned to an orthopedics room. -Epidurals are rarely placed outside of the OB suite and typically we don’t send our locums to OB for labor epidural placement. -Peripheral nerve blocks opportunities by a locum would be infrequent/rare. This does not fit well with our practice model. They are typically done by the MDs facilitating cases for CRNAs that are working ORs. Once a surgical case is done and the room is being “turned over,” the CRNA becomes available after PACU sign out. By then, it is too late to place the block and maintain the throughput.
