Overview

Salary range: $44,000 - $62,000/year Experience will depend on yearly salary Qualifications: Graduate of an accepted School of Nursing Current Pennsylvania License as a Registered Nurse required Heart Saver CPR Certification required Acute Care Experience - preferred ACLS Certification - preferred Responsibilities: *Complies with policies and procedures, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state or local law and regulations Obtains patient history and conducts appropriate patient assessment Collaborates with the health care team to develop and manage the plan of care, Involving patient/significant other whenever possible Implements appropriate nursing care to meet patient needs Evaluates patient’s response to medical, nursing, and other discipline interventions and takes appropriate action Administers medications, monitors effectiveness, and takes appropriate action as needed in accordance with policies and procedures. Proficient in starting and managing IV administration Responds appropriately to changes in patient condition. Consults medical record for pertinent patient information, such as diagnostic test results, physician progress notes. Implements the plan of care according to physician’s, nursing orders, and nursing care standards. Appropriately delegates to, and manages patient care delivered by support staff. Identifies patient learning needs on admission and throughout the hospital stay. Collaborates with health care team to develop and implement the discharge plan of care. Prepares the patient and significant others for appropriate home management regarding medications and the follow up plan of care. Actively participates in the orientation including cultural and social integration of new staff. When serving as preceptor, collaborates with staff member and manager/charge nurse to manage the learning process and develop individualized action plans as needs are identified. Achieves educational credits to meet hospital and/or licensing/certification requirements. Presents information obtained at education conferences to staff members. Participates in the development and advancement of departmental standards, policies, and other clinical/professional initiatives. Conducts self in professional manner in dress, actions, and interpersonal communication. Assures environment of safety for patients, significant others, and co-workers. Informs Manager/Nursing Supervisor of patient care situations and departmental problems as appropriate. Demonstrates effective problem solving skills for clinical and departmental issues. General duties as directed.
