MUST-HAVES/WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: • Valid California Registered Nurse license • Minimum of three years experience as RN in acute care environment in cancer/oncology that demonstrates progressive responsibility. • Current American Heart Association BLS/BCLS certification. • Track record of partnering effectively with both medical staff and non nursing departments • Track record of developing and mentoring others while creating an environment for learning and growth • Masters degree highly preferred • Previous management experience highly preferred • Previous management experience in a unionized environment strongly preferred • Unit specific specialty certifications preferred JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for coordination of patient care, policy development, data collection and analysis of process for all aspects of cancer program. • Monitors patient status, compliance, education, and program requirements to ensure compliance with all regulations. • Maintains practice standards according to California Nurse Practice Act, ANA Scope of Practice and ANA Work Ethics, The Joint Commission and all other regulatory agencies. • Acts as a role model by demonstrating compliance with Code of Conduct. • Utilization of the nursing process when making decisions related to patient care is essential. POSITION SUMMARY: • Under the direction of the Executive Director Inpatient Services manages, develops and coordinates the Commission on Cancer, Cancer Program, directs and supervises all functions and activities, develops policy/procedures/protocols to meet standards and regulations as appropriate. • Collects/supervises and monitors data collection, process and outcomes of cancer program. • Works collaboratively with hospital partnerships, such as the City of Hope and Kaiser.
