Overview
Required skills & experience (the 6 “must haves” to be considered): 1. Board certification in Emergency Medicine with a current unrestricted license to practice medicine is required 2. Active DEA 3. Physicians with at least 2+ years background in Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Geriatrics, Hospice are preferred 4. No formal experience required. Can consider new graduates outside of fellowship. 5. Understanding of population-based medicine 6. Must have reliable transportation with the ability to travel locally up to 30 miles/day What you need to know: • This is an at home/remote role and the MD will only go into a patient's home if they get called in. • Value-based model – no fee-for-service visits; this program is free for the patients • Provide urgent medical care to a population of high-risk patients through in-home and telemedicine patient visits leveraging home-based imaging and other diagnostics • Perform urgent care procedures such as Foley placement, I&D wounds, laceration repair, antibiotic administration, etc. • Work in a team-based model to help patients and families avoid unnecessary emergency room visits and hospital admissions • Number of patient visits per shift will vary depending on patient load/acuity • Urgent care serviced provided - no sedation, no intubation. If intubation is needed, escalation to 911. They will do supplemental oxygen, IV and urgent care that is appropriate for management in house. MDs can use clinical discretion to escalate to 911 or hospital at any point
