Overview
The nurse will support a Breast Oncologist in the clinic setting located at Highland Park and Evanston Hospitals. This is a part-time position and is benefits eligible. Hours and days of the week vary. Required: -Minimum 1 year Oncology experience required -ONS Provider card required -OCN certification preferred -Breast Oncology experience preferred -Current professional nursing licensure in the state of IL required -Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred -BLS/CPR certification required What you need to know: -Must live in close proximity to Evanston and Glenview (will float to different facilities each week). -Independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for an outpatient oncology patient population.(NOT a chemotherapy RN position. More admin support for the Oncologist and phone triage). -Utilize the nursing process and oncology background in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. -Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care. -Communicate and collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care. -Collaborate with assigned physician to facilitate effective clinic operations. -Coordinate communications with patient and provider including symptom management.
