Cath Lab Tech

Overview

Required skills & experience (the 5 “must haves” to be considered): 1. Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) 2. 2 years or recent Cath Lab Tech Experience required 3. Current Georgia RN license or RCIS 4. BCLS and ACLS 5. Proficient in scrubbing, sedating, circulating, and monitoring What you need to know: 1. Identify steps in established procedures to provide technical assistance for selected diagnostic and interventional invasive cardiology procedures, which include supply, equipment operation, monitoring, imaging and use of medical devices. 2. Use hemodynamic and ECG monitoring, including interpretation of data. 3. Able to scrub for all diagnostic and interventional CV procedures including preparation of supplies and instruments, preparation and maintenance of the sterile field, preparation and manipulation of cardiac catheters, guide-wires and devices. 4. May perform EP Device Procedures such as loop recorders, pacemakers, ICD’s. BiVs, and other implants. 5. Injection of contrast media and medications from the sterile field as directed and supervised by the physician. 6. Circulates: Performs various functions outside the sterile field. 7. Maintains medication supplies and administers medications under the supervision of a physician.
