Must haves to be considered: 1.) Must have an active Texas license 2.) Must have DEA 3.) Must have BLS 4.) Must be bilingual (English and Spanish) 5.) Must be available once a month - Friday to Friday for CALL ONLY ***Physician can be a General Practitioner, Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician Length of assignment: 3 month minimum commitment ONGOING assignment Schedule: Friday starting at 5pm through Monday at 8am (63 hours) Monday at 5pm through Tuesday at 8am (15 hours) Tuesday at 5pm through Wednesday at 8am (15 hours) Wednesday at 5pm through Thursday at 8am (15 hours) Thursday at 5pm through Friday at 8am (15 hours) WeekDAY call: $200 $160/hr call back WeekEND call: $550 $160/hr call back Possible rounding in the weekends, opportunity for call back hours Position details: - The physician is responsible for direct patient care. - Responds to all emergency calls from the Mental Health (MH). - Provides face to face evaluations of any MH patients as requested by Nursing Staff and/or as indicated by hospital policy and procedures. - Provides on-call duties as assigned by the Medical Director. - Provides medical assessments and treatment as needed. - Performs a complete physical examination; obtains a complete medical history within 24 hours of admission; writes admitting orders and initiates treatment for acute medical problems on those patients admitted during their time of work. - Performs a face-to-face evaluation of all patients that have been restrained or in seclusion within one hour of the beginning of such and documents according to policy and procedure. - Is available to respond to all questions and concerns by the nursing staff and other clinical care staff. This will include calling in necessary orders, as well as performing medical evaluations on patients of concerns as needed. Adjusts ongoing treatment as necessary. - Documents all interactions and orders
