Overview
Required skills & experience (the 4 “must haves” to be considered): • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP (or equivalent organization), or Histocompatibility Technologist by ABHI, or within 18 months of employment. • A bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited college or university. • This position requires a theoretical or conceptual understanding of the techniques, methods, and instrumentation utilized in the modern clinical laboratory. • Ability to communicate in an effective manner and work effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy. What you need to know: 1. Performs technical laboratory tests and related activities 2. Resolves technical problems 3. Assists in the maintenance, training, and development of new procedures 4. Performs quality control (QC)/instrument maintenance 5. Enters/ retrieves/transmits Laboratory test data into LIS/HIS 6. Documents all pertinent information 7. Completes continuing education events.
